Establishing a Project

NOTE: The CHCP is currently seeking agency partnerships for projects .  See  Projects Needing Partners

The Centre's focus is on activities that

  • Have a community-college partnership
  • Have a health promotion, community service-learning or community-based research component
  • Have as an outcome health promotion/healthy communities
  • Have an interdisciplinary component

Community Agencies can explore the potential for a  project by: contacting  the Centre at chcp@douglascollege.ca  or at 604 777 6501. Please see the attached form  CHCP Agency Request for Students used for preliminary data gathering.

Centre staff will

  • talk with you about your project ideas, their feasibility and help to determine the parameters and kind of student and faculty involvement needed
  • if it is appropriate, assist in the development of funding proposals that may be needed to support the project
  • review your requirements with interested faculty and determine the best linkages, dependent on expertise and availability of faculty and students. Wherever possible, students will work in interdisciplinary groups
  • connect you with faculty for further planning of the project and assist in the development of a Project Charter that is required for every project undertaken by the Centre
  • oversee the implementation and evaluation of the project

Please see Project Initiation  for more information.
