Establishing a Project
NOTE: The CHCP is currently seeking agency partnerships for projects . See Projects Needing Partners
The Centre's focus is on activities that
- Have a community-college partnership
- Have a health promotion, community service-learning or community-based research component
- Have as an outcome health promotion/healthy communities
- Have an interdisciplinary component
Community Agencies can explore the potential for a project by: contacting the Centre at chcp@douglascollege.ca or at 604 777 6501. Please see the attached form CHCP Agency Request for Students used for preliminary data gathering.
Centre staff will
- talk with you about your project ideas, their feasibility and help to determine the parameters and kind of student and faculty involvement needed
- if it is appropriate, assist in the development of funding proposals that may be needed to support the project
- review your requirements with interested faculty and determine the best linkages, dependent on expertise and availability of faculty and students. Wherever possible, students will work in interdisciplinary groups
- connect you with faculty for further planning of the project and assist in the development of a Project Charter that is required for every project undertaken by the Centre
- oversee the implementation and evaluation of the project
