The programme of this centre includes structured, and unstructured activities. During the unstructured times children may choose materials such as blocks, dramatic play activities, arts, music equipment, science materials, literature, woodworking and manipulative toys. During the structured activities community resources will be utilized. Parents and other resource people will be invited to participate whenever possible to add depth to the children's understanding of their total environment. The balancing of this programming will be promoting growth in all development areas.
Parents, Students and Staff Involved at the Centre
Parents are valued participants in our programme. They are encouraged to participate in the Centre as volunteers, observers, or board members. Parents and teachers talk briefly and informally every day as parents bring children to the Centre and call for them. Individual conferences may be arranged at any time during the year. Parents are welcome at any time.
All of the staff are fully qualified and have received certification from the Ministry of Health Provincial Child Care Facilities Licensing Board and Emergency First Aid Certificates. The college also has a First Aid attendant on staff.
