Awards
The following awards are available through Douglas College to support eligible Canadian and landed immigrant students who choose to study abroad:
International Studies Award - click on award name for more information and an application form.CIDA Youth Internship Award
If you graduated from Douglas College with a diploma or degree and secure a CIDA-funded internship from the Youth Internship Program, you are eligible for a $300 award from Douglas College.
You must have graduated from Douglas College within two years of securing your internship and must show a letter from your internship employer indicating you were hired for the internship position. Contact Douglas International for more information.
SWAP Working Holiday Award
If you graduated from Douglas College within the past two years of departing on the SWAP program, you are eligible for a $300 award from Douglas College. Contact Douglas International for more information.
Stewart Graham Memorial International Exchange Award
The Stewart Graham Memorial International Exchange Award was established by the Douglas College Foundation in memory of Stewart Graham, who was instrumental in the college’s founding.
This award helps students engaging in cultural or language learning studies programs abroad by supporting travel or exchange costs. Contact Douglas International for further information.

The Premier’s One World Scholarship
Anywhere from 10-20 awards worth between $5,000-$10,000 are available in 2011 from the Premier’s One World Scholarship program for a B.C. public post-secondary student wishing to pursue post-secondary education outside of Canada or the United States.
You must be enrolled in an academic program leading to a credential requiring at least two years of full-time study for completion and be able to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement in your post-secondary studies, such as having at least a B+ or equivalent academic standing, as well as considerable involvement in your institution or community.

The One World Scholarship
The One World scholarship program is open to eligible students enrolled in a program of at least one year in length, leading to a credential offered by a British Columbia public post-secondary institution. You must also be accepted into an international study or work abroad program as an integral part of your studies to qualify for this scholarship.
Eligible study/work abroad programs have to be at least three weeks in length, and no longer than one year. Scholarships range from $1,000-$3,000. Applications are administered by Douglas International. For more information and to apply, visit http://www.bcscholarship.ca/web/international/oneworld.
Pacific Horizons Scholarship
The Pacific Horizons scholarship program is open to eligible students enrolled in a program of at least one year in length, offering a credential at a British Columbia public post-secondary institution.
You must have arrangements to participate in cultural or language learning studies outside Canada and the United States of America to be eligible. For the purposes of this scholarship, an eligible study abroad activity is experiential in nature and normally does not carry academic credit and is not a key part of your academic program.
The activity is typically shorter (less than four months) and involves language acquisition and/or learning about another country and its culture. One scholarship for $1,000 is awarded each year through Douglas College.
