Key Access Procedures
Keys and access codes are issued through the Facilities Services Department. College employees must complete a Key Request Form and obtain an authorized signature.
Authorized Signature
An authorized signature is required from your Dean, Director, Administrative Officer or designate.
Student Key Access
Students must complete a Key Request Form and obtain an authorized signature. Students are required to pay a $10 deposit at the Cashier's Office at NW or at the Registrar's Office, Room A1450 at DL. Proof of payment is required.
Request for Keys Procedure:
- Complete a Key Request Form
- Bring your completed form with your Employee ID to Room 4800 – NWC or B3112 – DLC for key pick up
- In most cases, keys will be Issued immediately upon submission
NOTE: Completed Key Request forms will be accepted via email from an approved signing authority
Notice to all Key Holders:
- Ensure that Douglas College keys are kept secure (never lend them out to anyone)
- Inform Facilities Services immediately in the event that you have lost your keys
- Return your keys to Facilities Services upon termination of contract or employment
- Return your keys to Facilities Services upon change of office or location
- Do not trade or swap keys
- Keys are the property of Douglas College
- Each department is responsible for ensuring that contract faculty and auxiliary staff keys are returned to Facilities Services upon completion of approved use
Lock Changes, Repairs and Re-keying
All lock system upgrades, changes, repairs and re-keying requests must be submitted by the authorized personnel for your department or area.
Lost, Stolen or Found Keys
Lost, stolen or found keys must be reported immediately to Facilities Services. To replace lost or misplaced key(s), a fee of $5 is required for each key replaced. All fees can be paid at the Cashier's Office at NW or the Bookstore at DL. Proof of payment is required.
