First Aid
At the New Westminster and David Lam Campuses first aid is provided by Campus Security.
Campus Security provides Officers certified in Occupational First Aid Level 2.
Campus Security regularly deals with a variety of first aid calls and is equipped with oxygen equipment and fully stocked first aid bags.
First aid emergency calls should be made to Local 2400 (from a campus phone).
When calling provide as much information as possible regarding the situation and stay on the line. A trained officer will be dispatched to the area and Security will call 911 emergency responders as required. Where 911 services are involved, Security will arrange for a designate to meet emergency responders upon arrival to campus and direct them to the location of the emergency. Security will remain in contact with 911 dispatchers to update them on changes to the status of the situation.
All emergency care is handed over to BC Ambulance or Fire crews as they arrive on scene.
For non-emergency first aid call, or where able, go to Security:
