Post-Degree Diploma in Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Are you a mental health practitioner looking to upgrade your skills? Have you completed a bachelor’s degree and want to earn a recognized credential that will help get you a job in the field of mental health?

The Post-Degree Diploma in Psychosocial Rehabilitation is a one-year, part-time program that will prepare you for the challenging and rewarding field of recovery-based mental health services. This is the only program of its kind in Western Canada.

This program is now offered completed online to make it accessible from all regions of Canada.

Recovery-oriented approaches

In recent years, there has been a national and provincial shift in the field of mental health towards recovery-oriented mental health systems and services. The recovery orientation emphasizes client choice and a holistic approach to meeting client needs in key psychosocial areas such as housing and employment. Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) techniques are key to recovery.

Demand for Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioners

The shift towards recovery oriented mental health systems and services has created a serious need for qualified individuals to work in mental health. This program will give you the specialized knowledge and skills you need to work as a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) in a variety of mental health settings - with excellent employment opportunities.

Part-time graduate degree

Currently employed in the field? You can complete this program while you work. The courses will be offered in the evenings and in the future will be offered using online, distance education approaches to make sure they are accessible to working health practitioners throughout BC and Canada.

Nationally-recognized credential

Upon completion of this graduate diploma, you will be eligible to write the Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioners (CPRP) exam, which is recognized throughout Canada and the US.
