Professional psychology requires completion of degrees at the master's and doctoral level in psychology (usually a PhD). For those contemplating careers in other fields, studies in psychology are recommended (or in some cases, required). A background in psychology is an asset in many areas such as business, health care, community and social work, the legal system and the education system, and is important in any situation involving interactions with other people.
