Apply now to train for a great career as an office administrator in any of the Office Administration programs at Douglas College.
You'll get hands-on training in the latest software applications, keyboarding, administrative procedures, and business communications, as well as a range of interpersonal and employability skills that will make you an effective member of any office team.
We offer a variety of citation, certificate and diploma options to prepare you for a variety of medical, legal and other administrative roles.

Ways to study
Certificate programs
We offer four one-year certificate programs:
- Applied Bookkeeping Certificate
- Administrative Assistant Certificate
- Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate
- Medical Office Assistant Certificate
Office Administration Diploma
If you want to continue your education, you can transfer your credits from any of the certificate programs to the Office Administration Diploma Program. You'll earn your diploma with one additional year of study (two years total, including the certificate) if you study full-time.
Citation programs
If you already have some experience and are looking to upgrade your skills, or you are just looking for a shorter program, consider one of our one-semester (3 month) citation programs. Choose from three specializations:
Start dates
Most programs start in September of each year. Some programs allow you to start in January or May. Please see the individual program pages for details.
Cost
This depends on which program you are enrolled in. Tuition is calculated on a per-credit basis: the Certificate programs are 30 credits, the Diploma program is 60 credits and Citation programs are 15 credits. Check the Tuition Fee Chart for the current cost per credit.
In addition to tuition fees, all students must pay student fees. For a good approximation of how much your program choice will cost with tuition and student fees, consult the Program Costs Calculator.

University transfer
If you complete one of the Certificate programs, you can transfer into the Office Administration Diploma program. Once you have completed the Diploma program, you can transfer into Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Entrepreneurial Leadership.
