Bookstore
The bookstore has a variety of books, supplies, and Douglas College clothing.
Cafeteria
While you will be bringing lunch from your homestay, you may from time to time want to buy something from the cafeteria. Many kinds of food and drink, including pasta, stir fry, sushi, vegetables, baked goods, sandwiches, rice, coffee, meat dishes, fast food, and soups are available. If you bring something that needs to be heated, you can use a microwave in the Students' Union Building or in the deli (lower cafeteria).
Centre for Students with Disabilities
This Centre coordinates services and accommodations to ensure accessibility to all programs, college wide services, facilities and activities by students with disabilities. The Centre collaborates with the entire college community to provide services in the most inclusive setting appropriate to the access needs of the individual. If you have a disability that may affect your participation in this program, please let both the Explore Program Coordinator and the Homestay Coordinator know when you accept the bursary so that we can preview your needs.

Aboriginal Student Services
The Centre provides support to Aboriginal learners, raises an awareness of issues, and provides information to all students about Aboriginal cultures and issues. If you have any questions, please stop by the Centre.
Gym and Fitness Facilities
The Centre for Campus Life provides athletic facilities and wellness programs. There is a gymnasium and a modern weight room. Many programs such as aerobics and drop in sports are free for Douglas students, while pilates, Latin dance, and Martial Arts charge a fee. There are also Chiropractor and Naturopathic Physician services on site for a fee.
Library
The information desk is straight ahead as you walk into the library. Librarians will help you with any questions that you might have.
The library has a large selection of ESL books and tapes, magazines, newspapers, music CDs and videos (VHS and DVD) which are available for use in the library or to take home and use. You will need to bring your Student Card to take materials out of the library. Use the computers in the library to help you find materials, or ask a librarian.
Photocopiers
Photocopiers for students' use are located on the first and second floors of the library and in the Students' Union Building. You must pay to photocopy.
Security
The security guards provide many services:
- Locate rooms
- Provide first aid
- Collect lost, stolen, or found items
- Help if you feel threatened or unsafe, or if you see a person in danger or harming someone else
In case of emergency, there are red telephones located in the parkade and throughout the campus which are a direct line to security.

Showers
Showers are available for student use. They are located in the changing rooms near the gymnasium. Remember to bring a towel.
Bank Machine
There is a bank machine near the security booth in the Concourse.
Students' Union
The Students' Union Building is located off the 4th floor at the Royal Avenue entrance (North Building). Telephone 604-527-5110. Douglas Students' Union
Services include fax, photocopying, printing, and a job/volunteer board. There is also a free phone. The Students' Union also sells International Student Identification Cards.Telephones
In addition to the free phone in the Students' Union Building, there are pay phones outside the Upper Cafeteria on the 2nd floor, outside the Deli on the first floor, on the 4th floor of the north building, and outside the gym on the 1st floor. Please remember your pledge to use English only.
Women's Centre
The Women's Centre provides women with a comfortable place to relax and study. The Women's Centre has a variety of written material, films, information about community services, and resources available for personal development and educational goals.
