Summer Jazz Intensive
Summer Jazz Intensive
This is a concentrated course in the performance of jazz and related styles of music. The focus of the camp is soloing, improvisation and learning jazz literature. Jazz activities include improvisation coaching, combos, big band, jazz theory, concerts and master classes, as well as live student performances at local jazz clubs.
The Summer Jazz Intensive Camp, began in 1980 and has been a long standing tradition at Douglas College. The camp has a strong track record of assisting very successful jazz musicians in their development. Previous students include Diana Krall, Engrid Jensen, Brad Turner, Miles Black and Greg Scott.

Early Bird Fee (until June 30th): $350
Fee (from July 1st): $400
Ages: 13 and up
Prerequisites: At least three years of playing experience is recommended.
Director: Bob Rebagliati
Instructors: TBC. Past instructors were: Alan Matheson, Ross Taggert, Bernie Arai, Darren Radtke, Sharon Minemoto, Ihor Kukurudza.
