Information sessions are an excellent way to learn more about your prospective program. You'll get important details on how to apply, program content, job prospects, future study options, costs - plus answers to all your other questions.

We offer information sessions in the following continuing education programs:

All information sessions are held at the New Westminster Campus - 700 Royal Avenue and are free of charge.

Travel and Tourism Certificate Program

This part-time career training program will prepare you to join the diverse and exciting tourism and hospitality industry. Graduates are qualified to enter a variety of tourism sectors including: travel agencies, tour companies, airlines, cruise lines, hotels and many other related companies. The travel professional provides a vital service for individuals or groups whether travelling for business or pleasure. So expand your horizons and entrepreneurial spirit and train for your "ticket" to a fulfilling career.

Career Development Practitioner Certificate Program

Career development practitioners work in a variety of settings in schools, communities, agencies and government. Career development is an umbrella term that may include the following: career education, career counseling, employment counseling, human resource development, training in employment skills and community rehabilitation.

Leadership Development Certificate Program

Earn a Douglas College Certificate in this part-time Leadership program. Learn from and be inspired by our experienced practitioners. If you are in a leadership position or inspire to be, this program will provide you a foundation for your career or community involvement. Please join us and learn more about this professional development program. Express Entrance with continuous intake. A brief presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.

Community Mental Health Worker Program

This program is offered twice a year, September and March, at Douglas College's David Lam Campus in Coquitlam. Students in the CMHW program are eligible for student loans. Applicants must meet admissions criteria, attend an information session and successfully complete an admissions interview. For a detailed information and program application package, call 604-527-5477. A Douglas College Continuing Education Program Certificate is issued.

Veterinary Office & Animal Care Certificate (VOAC)

The purpose of the Veterinary Office & Animal Care (VOAC) certificate program is to develop the career ready skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to perform the multifaceted duties of veterinary assistants. The program focuses on small animal (domestic) assistant training and the essential practical skills training will take place off campus at animal shelters, veterinary clinics and rescue agencies.

Home Inspection Certificate Program

The Home Inspection Certificate Program is offered in partnership with Carson Dunlop and Associates. This relatively young profession has evolved from a rare service to one that is routinely used by prospective homebuyers - this means there is a growing need for qualified home inspectors. You may take all 10 courses to earn a Certificate in Home Inspection or complete the courses of interest to you.

Building Energy Resource Management (BERM)

Get a career in green building management with the Building Energy and Resource Management (BERM) program. This two-semester program is designed to provide you with the specific management skills, technical skills and critical thinking abilities to manage change in this constantly evolving world and to transfer that knowledge to others.
BERM has been developed with the support of Natural Resources Canada and BC Hydro.
