Headed to university?

Find out which credits will transfer to university

If you're planning on attending university, you'll need to know if your Douglas College courses will be accepted at the university you want to attend. For the most up to date and complete listing of transferability of all courses, please check the BC Transfer Guide at http://www.bccat.bc.ca.

We recommend that you make a list of all the Douglas College course numbers you wish to check before you go to this site.

Associate Degrees

Getting an Associate Degree from Douglas College may increase your chances of getting priority admission to universities in BC. Some institutions accept Associate Degree graduates with lower GPAs than other applicants, helping you meet rising university-entrance requirements. In addition, all major BC universities (including SFU and UBC) guarantee a full transfer of all 60 credits for work in your Associate Degree. Chemistry courses can be applied towards the Associate Degree in Science and the Associate Degree in Environmental Science.

Transferring into chemistry at UBC

To obtain credit for the first year in the Faculty of Science at UBC, the following courses are required: CHEM 1110/1210, PHYS 1110/1210 (or PHYS 1107/1207) and MATH 1120/1220. (Some optional courses are also required to complete the first year). Other faculties at UBC may have a lower level chemistry requirement in first year (i.e. UBC CHEM 111/112). Students can meet these requirements by taking CHEM 1108 + CHEM 1110 + CHEM 1210 at Douglas College.
