Want to Make a Difference on Campus?

Come and join the Student Wellness Awareness Team (SWAT). We are a group who are passionate about health and wellness, as well as creating a more vibrant campus at New Westminster and David Lam. We are looking for fun and enthusiastic students who wnat to make a difference on campus. Here is some more information you may want to know...

What will I get out of it?

    • Have a lot of fun and meet great new people and hopefully form new friendships
    • Gain new work skills and experiences that will boost your resume
    • Be a part of creating a better college experience for yourself and other students
    • Free Workshops in leadership, event planning, working in groups, administration and more...

    What do we do?

    • Raise Awareness of Health Issues
We put on events like the Health and Wellness Fair to help give students access to more information on how they can improve their overall wellness. With more people, so much more would be possible.
    • Social Wellness
We plan social events to help students meet new people and have fun like the basketball home opener/DSU pub night. We hope to do more of this in the future
    • Student Health 101 Online Magazine
We discuss content that goes into this publication including articles, promos and videos.

    Future Plans

    • More Events
We hope to plan more events around various health issues that are relevant to students
    • Wellness Centre
One of our longer term goals is to set-up a wellness centre where students can access all their heath and wellness information and potentially see a health practitioner.
    • Make Douglas More FUN!
We hope to plan more events each semester that allow students to meet one another and have a good time.
