Elluminate for Students

Getting Started

  1. So your instructor is using Elluminate. Are you prepared? The first thing you need to do is check to see if you have the  required software.
  2. Configure your audio for optimum sound. Douglas College provides  a Config Room you can use to test your connection, settings, and configure your audio. (This step is optional.)

Important: When joining an Elluminate Live! session for the first time, you may see a security dialog box asking you to confirm that the application's digital signature is correct. Click "Run" to continue.

  1. Ask your instructor if you will need to install any other software to read documents or to access other multi-media components during your Elluminate sessions.

Accessing Elluminate Session

Click on (or copy and paste) the link to the Elluminate Session provided by your instructor.

Once you're in your Elluminate session, be sure to run the Audio Setup Wizard under
Tools > Audio > Audio Setup Wizard. This ensures you will be heard by other participants.

Log in early (15-30 minutes) so there is plenty of time for you to load Elluminate and supporting programs; also, you will want to run the audio wizard before class begins so your microphone is at optimal performance levels
