You can use the library or one of the computer labs at the College to set-up your Novell account. You can also set up your account when you are off campus.
Setting up your Novell Account on the network:

Turn on the computer, if it's not already on. You will see the Novell Client for Windows on your screen.
- In the Username field, type student.
- In the Password field, type student.
- Click OK. The Novell Account Maintenance Web page opens.
- Double-click the link New Student? Create a Novell Account.
- Type your student number in the Student Number field.
- Type your birth date in the Date of Birth field using the format of YYYYMMDD. For example, if your birthday is June 15 1982, type 19820615.
- Click Submit Request. A window opens, confirming that your account has been created. You will receive an error message if the information you entered is incorrect or if your account already exists.
- Create your password. You will be prompted to create a password. It should not be your date of birth.
- Press Ctrl+Alt+Del on the keyboard. The Novell Client for Windows window appears.
- Select Logout. You may now log in to your Novell account. (See Logging into the Novell Network below.)
Setting up your Novell Account when you are off campus:
- In Internet Explorer, go to the Novell Account Maintenance Web page ( https://maint.douglas.bc.ca:4445/).
- Click the New Student? Create a Novel Account link.
- Type your student number in the Student Number field.
- Type your birth date in the Date of Birth field using the format of YYYYMMDD. For example, if your birthday is June 15 1982, type 19820615.
- Click Submit Request.
A window opens, confirming that your account has been created. You will receive an error message if the information you entered is incorrect or if your account already exists.
- You will be prompted to set a password, which should not be your date of birth.

Logging into the Novell Network
To log into the Novell network, do the following:
- Type s + your nine-digit student number (sNNNNNNNNN) into the Username field. The 's' is not case sensitive.
- Type the password you created into the Password field.
- Click OK.
Note: You will need to change your password once a semester. A pop-up window will appear when you have to do this. You cannot reuse old passwords.
