CEIT offers Just in Time and Customized Technical Training Workshops for Microsoft PowerPoint. Our PowerPoint series allows you to create clear, engaging presentations for students, colleagues, and conferences. Depending on your purpose, you can design with powerful simplicity, or use any combination of video, sound, and image multimedia.

PowerPoint: What's new and different?

Microsoft Office 2007 has a distinctive look and feel when it is compared to Office 2003. Explore these differences, learn where to find the tools you are accustomed to using and, very importantly, how to save so others can open your documents.

PowerPoint: Essentials I

Learn how to apply text, designs, colours, clipart and animation; order, insert and rearrange slides and add labels. Review printing transparencies and converting slides to presentation handouts.

Prerequisites:

  • Windows and mouse skills (left- right- and double-click, highlight and select, copy/paste, menus and scrollbars, save documents so you can find them again)

PowerPoint: Essentials II

Greater design functionality and control through the power of Master Slides. Explore how and when to apply transitions and special effects. Add headers/footers to your handouts and links to other slides, presentations or Web address.

Prerequisites:

  • PowerPoint Essentials I (Introduction or refresher) essential (or equivalent)

PowerPoint: Adding Multimedia

Incorporate sound, music, images and animation into your presentations. Explore a combination of different media (text, audio, music, images, animation, and video) to add impact.

Prerequisites:

  • PowerPoint Essentials II (or equivalent) (Master Slides, hyperlinks to other files, customizing headers/footers and backgrounds, and adding callouts and arrows)

In addition to the workshop series described on this site, CEIT also provides customized training for staff and faculty. Please contact our Help Desk.
