WINTER Semester 2012 (JANUARY - APRIL)

Withdrawal and refund deadline dates only apply to courses that are 15 weeks in length (comprising instruction and final exams). Course deadline dates, where the course is less than a full Semester in length will be pro-rated. Some courses of less than 15 weeks are not eligible for any refund. (See Refund Schedule).

Apply for Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries administered by Douglas College for Winter Semester only.

Jan 1 – 3

College closed.

Jan 2 – Mar 15

Applications or reapplications for Summer for General Admission programs will be processed but students will receive a late registration appointment time.

Jan 4

All classes begin.  Late registration begins.

Jan 4 – 17

Refunds for course drops during this period are 43% per credit.

Last day to change from credit to audit status in a course.

Last day to drop a course without receiving a "W" on record (subsequent withdrawals receive a grade of "W").

Last day to add a course.

Jan 31

Deadline to apply for Summer 2012 Graduation (June) without a late fee.

Deadline for submission of applications from International Students applying from overseas for the Summer Semester.

Feb 1

Deadline to apply for transfer credit to ensure credit has been recorded to meet course pre-requisites for Summer registration.

Late Applications for Summer 2012 Graduation (June) will be accepted with a late fee of $25.

Mid-Semester - students may obtain mid-Semester standing from instructors during this week in order to make decisions about dropping courses by the deadline below.

Deadline to apply for Part-Time Grant Funding for Winter Semester.

Feb 24

Deadline for students placed on academic probation from the Fall Semester to meet with a Counsellor.
Students who do not meet with a Counsellor by this date will be unable to access their records or register for future Semesters.

Apr 1 – May 18

Applications and reapplications for Summer Semester, and all documents for General Admission programs must be submitted in-person only.

Applicants applying or reapplying during this period will receive a registration time in the last priority time slots or later.

Recommended deadline for applicants submitting foreign documents. Documents submitted after this date will be processed but students are advised to obtain pre-requisite waivers for courses in which they intend to enroll for Winter 2013.
