Wait-list information

Important information about the wait-list

"NEW" for Fall 2011: You will no longer need to confirm your intention to remain wait-listed for courses. Please drop yourself from a wait-list if you are no longer interested in registering for that course section.

  1. You may put yourself on the wait-list for up to 10 courses/sections.
  2. You must check the Wait-listing page every day during the registration and late registration period to find out if you have been offered a space in a class. As a courtesy, we will also notify you by e-mail to your myDouglas email account; however, the notice on the Waitlisting page is your official notification.
  3. If a space becomes available in a class and you are next on the list, you will be notified that a space is available at 1230 hours on the Waitlisting page. You have 23.75 hours from that time to accept the registration offer. If you accept the registration offer, you must also pay the tuition for the course by the applicable payment deadline. If you do not accept the offer within that time, you will be dropped from the list. Offers are sent Monday to Thursday from March 22 to April 30 and May 3, 2012. Please note, no offers will be sent from May 1-2 and May 4-6, 2012. Offers are sent Monday to Saturday during the late registration period from May 7 to 19, 2012.
  4. On the day before the start of classes, check your status on the wait-list, you must attend the first class if you are still interested in registering into the course. Instructors make decisions about enrolling additional students at the first class. The instructor will decide if he/she is willing to accept any of the wait-listed students. Not all students may be offered a seat. Students will be accepted into class in wait-list order.

NOTE: the registration and waitlist system are closed April 23, 24, and 25. On April 25, the system will reopen at 2000 hours for students who have paid their fees in full.

Using the wait-list

There are specific instructions for adding yourself to the wait-list. Please carefully read and follow the instructions provided below.

  1. If you do NOT have the prerequisite or co-requisite or you have taken the course twice before, or three times for Mastery-graded courses, you will not be able to wait-list for that course.
  2. You may wait-list for more than one section of a course to a maximum of 10 courses/sections.
  3. Once you accept a registration offer for a course, you will automatically be dropped from the wait-list for any other sections of the same course.
  4. If you fail to pay your fees for the courses you are registered in by the 1st fee payment deadline you will be deregistered from your courses and removed from all waitlisted courses.
  5. The Waitlisting page is where you will:
    • monitor your position on the wait-list
    • drop yourself from a wait-list
    • accept a registration offer
  6. When you put yourself on the wait-list, the registration system does not check for time conflicts. You are responsible for scheduling a conflict-free timetable.
