Important dates and deadlines
Summer 2012 important dates to remember
| March 22 to April 5 | Priority Registration for Summer 2012 |
| April 6 | College closed - Good Friday. Saturday classes are cancelled. |
| April 9 | College closed - Easter Monday. |
| April 6 to May 20 | Registration continues to be open for all students to continue adding and dropping courses. |
| April 16 | ABESAP applications received by this date will be processed before the fee payment deadline. If you apply later, you will need to pay the fees yourself. When your application is processed, you may receive a refund of fees for your eligible courses. The final deadline for ABESAP applications is May 28, 2012. |
| April 16 | International Students - Fees due and payable by 1600 hours. |
| April 22 | Last day to drop a course and receive 100 % refund (no processing fee) |
| April 23 | All fees due and payable by 1600 hours to avoid deregistration (cancellation of registration of all courses). Fee deferrals (PDF) are due by 1600 hours to avoid deregistration. |
| April 23 & 24 | Registration and waitlisting system is closed (except for fee payments) to process fee payments and to deregister students who have not paid full fees or submitted a Fee Deferral. Students who have outstanding fees will be dropped from all courses and waitlists. |
| April 25 |
Registration and waitlisting system opens at 2000 hours for students who were not deregistered for non-payment of fees to continue to add and drop courses. |
| April 26 |
Registration and waitlisting system opens at 1600 hours for students who were deregistered for non-payment of fees to continue to add and drop courses. Additional fee assessments, as a result of course adds or drops during this period, are due and payable at the time of registration. |
| April 20 to 27 |
Grades for Winter semester courses are received. Students currently enrolled in a Winter semester course that is a prerequisite may be deregistered from the subsequent course in the Summer semester if the prerequisite is not completed successfully. |
| April 27 |
Last day to withdraw completely and receive 50% refund, or defer to the following semester, for new international students. |
| May 1 |
Deadline to apply for transfer credit or update high school grades for Fall 2012 registration. Apply for Bursaries for Summer Semester only. |
| May 2 | All fees are due and payable to avoid deregistration of all unpaid courses added since April 25, 2012. |
| May 6 |
Last day to drop a course and receive a 100 % refund. If all courses are dropped there is a $100 processing charge. |
| May 6 |
Check the Registration System to determine your position on the wait-list. IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you are on the waitlist you must attend the first class. |
| May 7 | First day of the semester. |
| May 7 to 11 | Attendance in class - students who miss their first class and do not notify their instructors prior to the scheduled start of the second class may have their seat in that course given to another student. See Attendance statement for more information. |
| May 7 to 20 | During Late Registration, the Registration System is open for you to:
Note: From May 12 to 19 you must be on a course wait-list and receive an offer from the instructor in order to register for that course. |
| May 18 | Last day to change your status from credit to audit in person using an Add Course form. |
| May 20 | Last day to drop a course on the Registration System and no "W" will appear on your permanent student record. Last day to withdraw and receive a 43% per credit refund. |
| May 21 | College closed - Victoria Day. |
| May 23 | Full fees must be paid to avoid late payment penalties and a registration hold on your account. Failure to pay fees will not result in deregistration. |
| May 25 | Student Services, Financial Aid, Office for New Students, and Registrar's Offices closed - all campuses. |
| May 28 | Last day to apply for ABESAP Funding for Summer 2012. |
| June 1 |
Last day to apply for bursaries for Summer 2012. |
| June 1 |
Deadline for students placed on academic probation from the Winter semester to meet with a Counsellor. Students who do not meet with a Counsellor by this date will be unable to access their records or register for future semesters. * Deadline for students who are continuing on academic probation from the Winter semester to meet with the Registrar. Students who do not meet with the Registrar by this date will be unable to access their records or register for future semesters. * * Note: Please refer to the letter that was sent to you after the Winter semester to confirm what action you will be required to take to ensure that you are not blocked from registering for Fall 2012. |
| June 11 to 16 | Mid-semester. Students may obtain mid-semester standing from instructors during this week in order to make decisions about dropping courses by the deadline below. |
| June 14 to 29 | Priority Registration for Fall 2012 semester |
| June 15 | Last day to apply for part-time funding for Summer 2012 semester. |
| July 2 | College closed - Canada Day. |
| July 8 | Last day to withdraw from a course for the semester (for a 14-week course - shorter courses are pro-rated.) All course drops must be done on the Registration System. Students will receive a "W" on their permanent record. |
| August 6 | College closed - BC Day. |
| August 8 | Last day of classes. |
