How to apply

Resources

If you are a new student who has never applied to Douglas College before, the application process is quite easy.

If you are a returning applicant or student who already has a student ID number, the re-application process is fast because Douglas already has much of your information.

When you apply affects how you apply. A convenient online application is available until 6 weeks before the start of each semester (semesters start in September, January and May). Past those cut-off points, you can't apply online: instead, you must fill out a paper application and bring it in-person to the Registrar's Office, along with the application fee (if applicable) and documents such as official transcripts.

Step 1: apply and pay your application fee

Apply online (or in-person at the Registrar's Office).  Click to start your online application.

Step 2: provide supporting documentation

New applicants

Mail or drop off the following to the Registrar's Office:

  • High school transcript (if you are currently in Grade 12, you must request that the Ministry of Education submit your transcript directly to Douglas College and for some programs you will have to provide an interim transcript by April 15)
  • Optional: post-secondary transcript from another institution and a Transfer Credit Request Form if courses you have previously completed are needed for admission or course prerequisites.
  • Your Application (online or paper) requires your Personal Education Number (assigned by the Ministry of Education). If you do not know your number, it will be assigned to you.

Returning students

  • Optional: post-secondary transcript from another institution and a Transfer Credit Request Form if courses you have previously completed are needed for admission or course prerequisites. Documents must be received at least 2 months before the start of the semester. Find out more about Transfer Credits.

  • A new application fee is not required if you attended Douglas College during any of the last three semesters.
