Between classes: Sarah Tarves
Certificate in Dental Assisting
Valedictorian Sarah Tarves
Education:
Certified Dental Assisting, 2010
Goals:
To work in a dental practice that I enjoy going to every day and to continue learning.
If I could turn back time
I would tell my 17-year-old self to not stress out about what you want to do: everything will work out in the end.
Hands on approach
I chose this field because I like working with my hands and really enjoy working with people. My hygienist also encouraged me to enter the dental field. I could not be stuck behind a desk all day long.
Why Douglas College?
I had a family friend who graduated from the Certified Dental Assisting (CDA) Program many years ago and she informed me that Douglas CDAs were had highly sought after and had one of the highest standards among CDA programs.
Not just a job…
The best thing about college is knowing that when I graduate, I can get a career rather than just a job. Another great thing is meeting new people and making friends.
Going public
The most important thing that I learnt at college was overcoming my fear of public speaking.
