Linda Mitchell

is a proud Creenadian.

Education

Aboriginal Child and Youth Care Stream

Currently:

Career goals:

Getting my degree. I want to serve the Aboriginal community's young people, either in youth justice or children in care.

Personal goals:

To walk in a good way everyday and always keep learning and sharing with others. To respect our Elders and honor our youth.

About me:

I am a strong Métis woman who is Cree and European. I am a Creenadian.

It seems like only yesterday

I didn't think I could go to school and work full time. Now that I have completed a number of courses in this stream, I am excited about the possibility of getting the degree I have only been dreaming about until now.

The best thing about college was

passing!

The most important thing I learned in college

was that education is the key to open doors when one wants to make changes happen.

The hardest things about college were

working full time and going to school. The assignments were definitely a challenge. Getting them done on time was my biggest challenge. Learning about APA style. Having the confidence to meet the challenge and not putting off until tomorrow what needs to be done today.

The best instructor I had was

Artemis Fire, a powerful role model whose sensitivity is empowering. Artemis was always there when I needed her. Talking to her made everything possible. I hope to see her at my graduation.
