About me:
My role model is anyone who has succeeded in achieving their goals despite personal hardships and challenges. For example, Sidney Poitier did not know how to read until he was an adult and recently wrote an autobiography called The Measure of a Man.
This summer, I'm going to work at BCIT in the purchasing department. But five summers from now, you'll find me at BCIT in a different capacity, either as a buyer or in the accounting department.
I'd like to continue to take courses in purchasing and accounting, and possibly earn an accounting certification.
My must-visit web site is the New York Times crossword puzzle.
I would tell new Douglas students
to become as organized as you can, study hard, and be open to asking other students for help, or to offer help. You'll make solid friendships this way and succeed in college.
The hardest thing about going to College
was getting used to long nights of study. That was initially difficult.
Test craziness got to me when
trying to finish 30 multiple choice questions in five minutes at the end of an Excel exam.
The most important thing I learned
is that it's never too late to go back to school and pursue a new career.
I would tell fellow grads
was the sense of achievement.
The best thing about College
was the sense of achievement.
If I have to pick one favourite instructor
Brenda Read encouraged us to think about our personal values and future goals. I think that this was very valuable.
If I could go back in time
I would you tell my 17-year-old self be true to yourself by pursuing careers that interest you rather than careers that you think you should do.
